Thank you for Choosing Willamette Valley Rabbitry to privately transport your Pet. Your Pet will remain in our care during the duration of the trip. Providing a comfortable and low stress environment for your Pet is our goal.
WHAT’S INCLUDED Crates Leashes Collars Fresh bed of Hay for Rabbits Chew on during the trip Daily clean, sanitized carriers Wellness Checks at each stop Fresh Water topped off Feed is limited to prevent upset stomachs due to stress. If in season, there is organic Dandelion Leaf, and pine cones as snacks AC for comfort. Overnight stop – windows cracked for ventilation. If temperatures have increased, AC is left on entire trip or a motel room is purchased and rabbits can sleep in comfort. COMMUNICATION While transporting you will receive individual text so if there are questions, the specific owner can see the progress. After pick up, a Map Quest ETA will be texted for ETA of next stop. Calls will be made 30 minutes out to inform owner of pending arrival. Keep in mind there could be delay because of weather and road conditions. Should delays occur, owners will be notified with new ETA. Contact number and emergency contact numbers should be given to transporter in the event of an emergency. Things happen on the road whether it's an accident or act of nature. Having these important numbers is critical in a seamless transport. Should an accident occur, owners will be notified asap, rabbits will be taken to the closest vet and inspected for injury, transferred to a second vehicle, and route continued. Should a rabbit be injured, the owner and vet will decide the treatment needed for recovery. If necessary, upon release, the rabbit will be picked up by a second transport and delivered to the owner. BREEDER When Willamette Valley Rabbitry picks up from the breeder, non-veterinarian staff will inspect the pet and take photo’s for a poopy butt, crusty nose, and dirty ears indicating mites. If for any reason the pet looks sickly - they will NOT TRANSPORT your PET. An immediate message will be sent to the buyer. Willamette Valley Rabbitry has the right to refuse service to sick animals. Willamette Valley Rabbitry does not always have time to check ear number and sex of the rabbit. It is the responsibility of the Breeder to supply the correct rabbit. All individual carriers will have your Rabbits’ info including Name of Breeder & Buyer, Sex, Breed, and # of rabbits bought. Rabbits will not under any circumstances be housed in same cage. Willamette Valley Rabbitry will gladly except and deliver pedigree’s with the Pet if needed but can not guarantee the correctness of ear numbers and weight of the 3 generation pedigree. It is the buyers responsibility to be sure to ask the driver for their documents. The Breeder should supply Willamette Valley Rabbitry at least a 2 week’s supply of food to give to buyer in a plastic container. Pet's info should be written on the lid, (1. Buyer’s name 2. Breed 3.sex 4. brand of feed provided). Should transport be longer in length, Breeder needs to supply transport with enough food to cover duration. If breeder cancels sale of pet or for any reason and can not meet Willamette Valley Rabbitry after transport is paid, breeder is responsible to refund transport fees to buyer. Handling, Housing, Feeding, Watering, Sanitation & Ventilation Protocols
Animal Identification and Record Keeping:
A Transport Tag is assigned and will include Cage Number, Breed, Tattoo Number, Sex, Date of Birth, Breeder and Buyer Information and any special feeding instructions. Handling: At loading point, pets are immediately checked for outward signs of disease or injury by non-veterinary staff, watered, food upon entering their permanent cage. Cage Cleaning: The Primary enclosure will be cleaned daily for excreta and food waste and under primary enclosure trays as often as necessary to prevent excessive accumulation of feces and food waste, to prevent soiling , and to reduce disease hazards, insects, pest and odor. Any used primary enclosure, solid surfaces, and feed and water receptacles are cleaned and sanitized after each use by washing with appropriate detergent and sanitizer disinfectant. Cages will be sanitized and Deodorized daily and as soon as possible after use to prevent drying of debris. (Pre clean hard, non-porous surfaces to be treated with Sani Date Ready to Use, and rinse well with potable water. Apply fresh solution to surface until thoroughly wet, do not dilute. Let stand for 5 minutes and then air dry.(SaniDate Hard Surface Sanitizer is an activated peroxide sanitizer for hard non-porous surfaces and food preparation areas (Bleach-Free and Ammonia-Free) which kills 99.9% of Bacteria: Staphlococcus aureus (Staph), Kebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, (E.coli)) and Salmonella enterica (Salmonella).) Daily we will visually inspect cages/cups for residual debris and damage; re-clean/replace as necessary. Temperature: Ambient temp must not fall below 45 degrees or rise above 85 degrees Fahrenheit for more then four consecutive hours. Air conditioning should be turned on and Swamp Cooler on board should be filled with ice should it be to warm. Ventilation: Ventilation is provided by windows, doors, vents and air-conditioning. Air is circulated by 3 overhead fans and air conditioner to minimize drafts, odors and moisture condensation. Cage Requirements: Cage size will be the size to allow for sitting, standing, laying in natural position. Resting mats are provided for comfort. Hay bedding also is supplied to breeds to prevent soar hocks. Food & water containers are securely attached inside enclosure. Food & Water: 1 hour food and water breaks are given twice daily. Continuous hay for rabbits and treats for other pets is provided with afternoon snack. Every 2-4 hours a rest stop is given for hydration, stretching and exercise opportunities. Minimum 1 hour daily. Driver will do daily wellness checks observing to make sure the rabbits have sufficient air, ambient temps are within limits and check if any rabbit is in distress needing veterinary care. If pet is obviously ill, injured or in physical distress, owner will be called and rabbit will be transported to veterinary care for the condition at owners request. |
BUYER When you receive your pet the buyer is responsible for inspecting that they received the correct pet, feed and pedigree. Buyer is responsible for inspecting the pet's sex , overall condition and look for any injuries on the pet that could be caused from transport. Please do NOT wait until you get home or 1 week later to notify Willamette Valley Rabbitry or breeder with any issues. After acceptance, the pet is deemed in perfect health and condition. Willamette Valley Rabbitry provides the best care possible to all pets however, transport is still a very stressful experience for pets and not all recover from the drive. Even in rabbits who receive excellent care and good sanitation, Intestinal Coccidiosis affects younger rabbits from a few weeks old to 5 months, particularly newly weaned kits. Risk factors include stress and immune suppression. If you have any questions you can always text the driver. They will responds while not driving. IF FOR ANY REASON YOUR PET GETS SICK OR DIES IN WILLAMETTE VALLEY RABBITRY’S CARE, WILLAMETTE VALLEY RABBITRY WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE! THEY WILL DO ALL THEY CAN TO HELP THE PET AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE BUYER. WILLAMETTE VALLEY RABBITRY WILL NOT REFUND ANY MONEY FOR THE PET OR REPLACE THE PET OR YOUR TRANSPORT FEE's! The buyer is encouraged to buy pet transport insurance as you would flight insurance. DEATH OF A PET Due to biological, temperament and unknown disease all pets react differently during transport. They may loose weight, begin to have a snot nose, lung irritation, wheezing, refuse to eat etc. No transport can guarantee 100% delivery. Transport causes a higher risk of stress related death and bloat in rabbits. Owner will be notified should this occur. Willamette Valley Rabbitry can dispose of the body or take to the nearest vet for disposal. It will not be placed on ice for the duration of the trip. Rabbit Breeds that are higher risk: Dwarf’s, Belgian Hare, Continentals, Flemish Giants, Checker Giants, Senior Rabbits, Pregnant Does, and Kits under 12 weeks of age. Willamette Valley Rabbitry will not compensate the breeder or owner any monies or be held legally responsible. Any picture provided by Willamette Valley Rabbitry to breeder/owner are copy right protected and remains the property of Willamette Valley Rabbitry and may not be used in any circumstances on the internet included but not limited to, Face Book, chat sites, or group discussions. REFUND POLICY Buyer has 24 hours to cancel transport for a full refund after paying. After 24 hours, the buyers fess will apply to a future run. There are no refunds for any reason. Willamette Valley Rabbitry expects buyer and breeder to stay in constant contact with Willamette Valley Rabbitry! If you have paid Willamette Valley Rabbitry for services and did not arrange for exact pickup/drop-off time and the rabbit was not picked up, your money will not be refunded. PRIVATE TRANSPORT FEES PRIVATE Transport fees are determined on milage and are required to hold spot for your rabbit via Pay Pal or calling the office with your credit card number. No numbers are kept on our computer hardware. Alaska and Canadian have additional import export taxes and manifest fees that vary depending of value. We are happy to provide total cost upon request. If a pet needs boarding to be held until buyer is ready to receive, holding fee is $250.00 per week for care. If you have any questions concerning transport policies, please let Willamette Valley Rabbitry know. If Willamette Valley Rabbitry does not hear from you with any concerns, they will consider that you agree with all the aforementioned information given. Please be on time at meeting spot, we will wait up to 30 minutes then move on to the next spot and will not refund money nor will Willamette Valley Rabbitry apply it to any future runs. If Willamette Valley Rabbitry is running late, they will notify in advance via messenger or text. There will be no reroutes. If buyer or seller miss the pick up/drop off and want the van to return in the same day, a second transport fee of same value will be charged to the buyer/seller for deliver or pick up. If Willamette Valley Rabbitry is running late, they will notify in advance via messenger or text. We currently accept cash, check or paypal. Checks must clear before rabbit leaves our barn
Note: We must have 50% down payment, non-refundable to hold rabbits within 2 weeks of sale agreement.
